Download Magic of DAP

Here is a review on the best download manager I have ever used.So what is DAP and why this thing? For those who already don’t know, DAP means Download Accelerator Plus. It’s a download manager. It comes as both freeware and paid version(Screenshot Below).

DAP :Download Accelerator Plus

Now the response to why. Because it is the finest download manager I have come across. It is free and feature full. The paid version only adds better speed (Extreme acceleration) and some more features. Let’s have a panoptic look on it (features).

1. First of all it is a very good download manager. Provides a very good and decent download speed even in Dial-up network. It provides simultaneous download of multiple files through multiple connection. It has high-quality pause and resume support which gets bettered with paid version. Most recent version i.e. 8.5 has introduced tabs feature, thus there will be only one window for all downloads.

2. It has also FTP browser. Thus you can download files through FTP as well.

3. It has one most simple and user friendly user interface. Every option is only two clicks away. And then there is tabbed downloading which not to forget is a user friendly feature.

4. File shredding is a very good feature provided. It helps to delete file permanently. Free version only allows shredding of files which are below 4 MB only.

5. It has integrated a security feature. It has joined with Zone Alaram (one of best known for internet security). It helps you to determine whether the files/source is safe or not.

6. It has also a trace cleaner, a good feature for privacy protection. It deletes or removes the trails left behind while downloading. This feature also helps in password management for download sites. These are available in paid versions.

Ok features are good but what about the download speeds. So let’s have a look at a small test result on it. The test results are show below. I download only one file at a time on dial-up 56 kbps connection. Results are given as below:

S.No.

File size (MB)

Download time

Average speed

1

5

20 min. 30 sec.

4.2 KB/sec

2

11

45 min. 50 sec.

4.1 KB/sec

3

37

2 hrs. 10 min.

4.5 KB/sec

Well the speeds are impressive compared to others. So impressed with DAP. Don’t wait get it. For more details Go to Speed Bit.

NOTE: Speeds vary with connections and configuration of computer and even place.
